Air stimulation system CIBERTEC AirPuff
CHARACTERISTICS
Air stimulation system used for response to startle and pre-pulse inhibition experiments.
The system consists of a control unit which generates air stimulus (blows) that go directly to the subject's tear duct, producing a startle response.
The stimulus is directed to the subject's tear duct thanks to its glasses-type configuration that allows a quick and comfortable configuration of the experiment. The lightness of the glasses and the non-limitation of the subject's vision field allows for any type of experiment in conjunction with other stimulation or recording devices.
The control of stimulus it is performed in a few centimeters from the action point (tear duct) then there is no delay between the stimulation signal and the real stimulus.
The stimuli can be commanded manually by the control unit (manual red button) where the duration is defined by pulsation time or by a timer which has been previously configured on the control unit panel. Also it is possible to control the stimulation by external devices through its TTL input. In this case the duration of the stimulus could be selected between the duration of the input pulse or configured duration in the control unit panel timer.
To allow synchronization or recording with other equipments, control unit has a TTL output that marks the stimulus.
