CIBERTEC CERS41 Startle Response System

CHARACTERISTICS

The CIBERTEC CERS 41 Acoustic Startle Response System is used for studying behavioral assessment of sensor motor processes in small laboratory animals.

The system is composed of:

- CERS 41 Control Unit: It is capable to control up to 4 startle chambers simultaneously. It is connected to a PC via USB to control the stimuli and monitor responses.

- Startle Chamber: A cylindrical animal enclosure. The chamber may be adjusted to accommodate animals of various sizes by using the appropriate animal enclosure. Startle responses of the animal are transducer and recorded as a data points on a computer

- Isolation Cabinet Standard: Each cabinet is equipped with an internal light, fan, a spyhole and a complete sound generation system to produced background noise, prepulse stimuli and startle stimuli , all controlled by MRS3 software.

- MRS3 Software: Permits programming all functions needed for startle response testing without the need to know a programming language. Displays each subject’s responses on screen immediately following each trial, captures a complete waveform and provides a method for the researcher to examine the accuracy of the summary point calculations.

The system can be configured with up to 4 experimental chamber platforms.
